K–2 Father’s Day Afternoon

On Monday we welcomed our K–2 fathers and father figures (and even some father representatives) for a special Father’s Day afternoon. Students and dads enjoyed spending time together with fun activities. The joy and laughter shared made it a memorable celebration for everyone involved. Thank you to all the families who joined us.

Cuddly Animal Farm Incursion

Our Kindy to Year 2 students enjoyed a visit from the Cuddly Animal Farm. The children loved meeting and interacting with the animals, from feeding lambs and goats to patting guinea pigs and rabbits. It was a hands-on experience that gave students the chance to learn and play with the animals up close.

Illustrator Incursion with Aśka 🎨✏️

With thanks to the City of Wanneroo Libraries, our students were treated to an amazing visit from Aśka, a children’s book illustrator and comic artist. She showed students and staff how a few simple lines can turn into funny characters, animals and whole stories.

The kids were blown away by her drawing tricks and loved having a go themselves. There was lots of laughter, creativity and wide-eyed amazement as Aśka turned shapes and scribbles into something magical.

Our students were inspired to pick up their pens and let their imaginations run wild! B4 created the report in this publication.

A5 Assembly – Sharing Stories and Learning Together

The A5 class led a very informative assembly on Friday 22 August. It was a history lesson for all, as students shared about the Aboriginal leaders of the past here in WA and the importance of reconciliation and Sorry Day.

Through stories, students reflected on history, respect, and the strength of community. The assembly reminded us that learning about the past helps us understand the present and build a kinder future together.

The community song at the end was a joyful moment, bringing everyone together. It was a beautiful way to finish the assembly, celebrating both the stories we learn and the stories we live.

Book Week – Book an Adventure!

What a wonderful Book Week we have shared together! This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure,” brought stories to life across our school.

Students enjoyed exploring books in many exciting ways. Our Story Walk took classes on a journey around the school grounds, where they discovered the story page by page. The Scavenger Hunt had students follow clues and searching for hidden words, bringing lots of excitement and teamwork.

A big highlight of the week was our dress-up day and character parade. We saw superheroes, animals, fairy-tale characters, and book heroes everywhere. Thank you to all the families who went to the extra effort of helping children with their costumes as it made the parade even more special.

The Book Week Passports will continue as an activity until Thursday 25 September. Every completed passport will go into the prize draw, so keep encouraging the children to complete the activities to collect those stamps!

We had such a wonderful response to our Book Week Photograph Competition. The winners were announced and awarded their prizes on Friday 22 August. Aaron was the winner in two categories of Most Creative Location and Funniest Adventure; Mirha was the winner of the Best Costume category and Elliana, Eleanor and Eliza the winners of the Best Group category.

Book Week has been a celebration of reading, imagination, and community. Thank you to the staff, our wonderful families, and students for making it a success. Together we showed that books really can take us anywhere!

Science Week Sparks Curiosity and Discovery

Our school celebrated a jam-packed Science Week filled with hands-on learning and exciting experiments.

We kicked off the week with an incursion by Science Alive, where students were captivated by live demonstrations of amazing science in action. Throughout the week, classrooms across the school became buzzing laboratories, with teachers leading engaging science activities. Our Kindy students especially enjoyed exploring science through their own little experiments, sparking curiosity at an early age.

The week concluded with a highlight on Friday, when our Year 6 students proudly showcased their own science experiments to the rest of the school. Their demonstrations inspired younger students to think like scientists and explore the wonders of the world around them.

Science Week was a wonderful celebration of discovery, creativity, and curiosity.
