End of Term 3 message from the Principal

What a busy and exciting term it has been!

We have celebrated Book Week, Science Week, the Faction Carnival, One Big Voice, Father’s Day and In-Term Swimming. Each of these events highlighted the enthusiasm, talent, and spirit of our students, as well as the wonderful support of our families.

A heartfelt thank you to all staff, students, and families who contributed to making these occasions so successful. Your ongoing involvement and encouragement ensure that our school continues to be a vibrant and engaging place for learning and community.

I will be taking Long Service Leave during the last week of this term and the first week of Term 4. In my absence, Mr Cardenia will be stepping into the role of Acting Principal. The Deputy Principal position will be supported by our very capable teachers who have kindly volunteered to assist during this time.

I have every confidence that the school will continue to run smoothly, and I thank the staff for their willingness to step up and support our school community.

Warm regards,

Astrid Morgan

Little Learners – Kindy Transition 2025

We are excited to welcome our Little Learners who will be starting Kindy in 2026! Our transition program is designed to help children (and families) feel confident and ready for the big step into school.

Every Thursday, families are invited to join our Hudson Park Playgroup.

From October, students and parents can take part in special transition sessions, including an information session and school tour on Friday 31 October, followed by classroom experiences on 14 November and 28 November.

Each session includes fun activities, a chance to meet teachers and other families, and some wonderful take-home goodies such as a Little Learners shirt, Kindy hat, Hudson bear, library bag, and storybook. We look forward to seeing our newest learners as they begin their journey at Hudson Park Primary School.

Swimming Lessons Reminder

Get ready to make a splash! Swimming lessons will run from Monday 15 September to Friday 26 September during school time.

Students will travel by bus to and from the pool with their class. Please remember to pack:
– Bathers and towel (in a bag)
– A plastic bag for wet clothes
– Goggles (if needed)

Students must come to school in their school uniform.

It’s going to be a fun two weeks in the water — don’t forget your gear so you’re ready to dive in!

Students who have not paid will not be able to go.

School Mobile Phone Policy

We would like to remind everyone of our mobile phone policy. Students are not permitted to use mobile phones during school hours. If your child needs to bring a phone to school, it must be turned off and left at the front office until the end of the school day.

We love our dogs but not their mess!

We love our dogs, we really do,
But school’s not the place for doggy poo!
Little shoes step, little hands fall,
It’s not very healthy — not nice at all.

A sniff or a wag might seem alright,
But cleaning up mess is not our job, right?
So keep your pets at home, please do!
Help us keep our school poo-free too!

One Big Voice

HPPS Choir at One Big Voice 2025

On Friday 29 August, our amazing Hudson Park Choir went to the One Big Voice Festival at RAC Arena. Throughout the year they have been working on 10 songs to sing in a concert with thousands of children from 83 other schools. The students all had a wonderful time singing songs including ‘Shotgun’ and ‘Flyaway’ as well as songs written by local WA composers like ‘Up down South’. The students represented the school in a very professional manner, sang with great enthusiasm and were amazing with their actions. I am so very proud of them all and look forward to learning more music to finish off the year. Just keep singing!

EA Appreciation Week

We celebrated EA Appreciation Week in week 7. Our Education Assistants do an incredible job supporting our students every day, and this was our chance to say thank you. Staff and students showed their appreciation with small treats and kind words. It was a wonderful way to acknowledge all the hard work our EAs do for our school.

You are Invited!

We’re hosting a friendly P&C training session to help parents and carers learn how our Parent & Community group works and how you can get involved.

B5 Assembly – Drumming Up Fun 🥁

The B5 class had us all tapping our toes with their fantastic drumming display at assembly! Students showed off their rhythm and teamwork as they drummed together, filling the room with energy and smiles.

The audience loved the beats and the confidence the students showed on stage. Well done, B5 — you really drummed up some joy for the whole school!
