Principal’s Message

Kaya Hudson Park families

We have had a wonderful start to the term and students have settled well into the daily routines. This Monday 3 March 2025 is a public holiday for Labour Day, so staff and students do not attend school on this day.

Hudson Park School Board.

The Hudson Park School Board consists of staff, parents, grandparents, and community members who work together to achieve the best outcomes for students. The Board is formed with the fundamental purpose of enabling parents and members of the community to engage in activities that are in the best interests of students and will enhance the education provided by the school. Board meetings are held on a Tuesday afternoons at 3:10pm in week six of each term at the school.

If you would like to become a member of the School Board, please complete a nomination form prior to Friday 7th March 2025. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Upcoming State Election

On Saturday 8 March 2025, Hudson Park PS will be hosting the State Election. Our wonderful P&C will be selling food and drinks throughout the day to raise funds for our school . It would be great if you are coming in to vote, to donate an hour of your time to help out? Thank you in advance to our P&C and the volunteers that contribute to our school community.

Breakfast Club

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers who attend every Tuesday and Thursday morning to prepare delicious cheese toasties, fruit, spaghetti, toast, and milo for our Breakfast Club. It is a wonderful opportunity for families to come down and enjoy breakfast together. Fresh fruit is available for ‘Crunch & Sip’ and there is plenty of food and space for everyone to join. I hope to see some more faces at the Breakfast Club as the year progresses. For families who need breakfast on a Wednesday morning, a basic menu of toast, spaghetti and fruit will be available in the Breakfast Club Room.

Before School Changes

This year we have stopped putting out sports equipment in the morning as we are wanting students to wait quietly in the undercover area before school. This minimises interactions with Girrawheen SHS students and prevents issues between other students before school. There are teachers on duty to supervise students from 8:30am.

Attendance

Going to school every day is vitally important so your child does not miss important ideas, concepts, knowledge, and skills for future learning. At our school, we want your children to do their absolute best. To get the best education, they need to go to school every day. By working together, our school community can support your child’s attendance.

What can you do to help?

  • Have a set time for your child to go to bed at night and get up in the morning.
  • Have their uniform and school bag ready the night before.
  • Have a set time for breakfast.
  • Set a time for daily homework activities.
  • Talk about school positively.

If running late, encourage your child to still go to school and reassure them that you will let the school know.

Organise for your child to meet a friend before school so they can arrive at school together.

Get involved at school through volunteering or participate in school programs, events or join the Parents and Citizens’ Association.

If your child is going to be absent from school, we need to know. Please contact the school via text on 0437 783 389 or call 9345 6550. It is a lawful requirement to know why your child is absent, so please provide a reason when contacting the school.
