Our School - School Context

Hudson Park Primary School is located 20km north of Perth, in the centre of the suburb of Girrawheen. The school opened as Hudson Park Primary in 2009 with the amalgamation of Girrawheen Primary School and Blackmore Primary School. A significant upgrade was completed adding two new blocks, including new classrooms, kindergarten, undercover area and canteen.

The school enrolment is approximately 290 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. 40% of the school population speak English as a second language. Many of these students are still learning English. Major cultural groups within the school are Vietnamese, Sudanese, African nations, Malay, Burmese, Macedonian, Romanian, Cambodian, Iranian, and Afghani. 15% of students are of Aboriginal heritage. There is approximately a 30% transience rate of students. 20% of children come from single parent families.
